Recipe of Urad Sabut
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Urad Sabut (whole black gram)
- 3 cups water
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse the Urad Sabut in cold water and soak it in water for at least 4-5 hours or overnight. Drain the water and set aside.
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil or ghee over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
